Common Sense [For the Common Council]
I care deeply and passionately about our community and that's why I am running for re-election to City Council. The opportunity to serve on City Council is an opportunity to serve the public and improve Sun Prairie. With a lengthy background of connections made in volunteer and committee positions throughout the city, a sound voice will be heard in the council chambers.

Two New Polling Locations!
Having lived in 18 different municipalities across the US and throughout a handful of different states, I have a breadth of perspective on what makes a great city. With family that has lived in Sun Prairie for nearly 50 years, I chose to plant my roots here four years ago and it was a great choice for our family. I want to make sure it remains a good place for my daughters and future generations to grow, live, work, and enjoy!
My community involvement provides a strong background for sound decision making on important city matters. To name a few involvements, I have most recently served as the School Community Organization (SCO) President at Northside Elementary, coordinating volunteers, events, fundraisers, and communicating with the entire school community. I have coordinated the installation and regular upkeep of a School Garden at Northside Elementary which has garnered an avidly attended Garden Club. I have passionately worked to expand the garden to include a vegetable garden, fruit trees, and a pollinator-friendly garden for kids to learn important lessons about science, biology, and the environment. I've spent time volunteering at the Sun Prairie Library and the Sun Prairie Community Garden. For three years, I've served as a co-leader for Girl Scout Troop 7858 in Sun Prairie. Our service projects have benefited the community through healthy foods grown and donated, clothing donation drives, food drives, first aid kit donations to Sunshine Place, park clean-ups, donations to Occupy Madison as well as our hard-working city service members.
I stand for:
Opportunity for All
“Theresa is one of the most service oriented parents I have had the privilege of working with. She always goes above and beyond what is expected with detailed organization and seeks out opportunities to create meaningful experiences for our school community.”
~ Lexi Vanden Heuvel, Northside Elementary Principal
“Theresa is a kind and civic minded individual who cares deeply about Sun Prairie and its citizens. She actively participates and volunteers in the school district and community. She also keeps herself well informed of current issues within the community. I have no doubt that she will do an excellent job representing District 2 and the community as a whole.”
~ Marta Hansen, Owner of The Piano Gal Shop
